Certificates awarded by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) received a boost recently with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and authorities of more tertiary educational institutions endorsing the certificates for admission to Schools of Nursing and Health Technology Institutions in the country.
A statement issued at the weekend in Benin City and signed by the Registrar/Chief Executive of NABTEB, Prof (Mrs) Ifeoma M. Isiugo Abanihe described the endorsement of NABTEB Certificate for admission to Nursing and Health Institution as a welcome development.
The Professor of Language Education and Educational Evaluation, noted that the development was capable of opening up whole new vistas for ambitious Nigerian youths in both the academic and the field of work.
“Apart from facilitating access to professional and general education programmes, this positive development would also broaden the nation’s technological base and assuage the plight of numerous admission seekers”, she enthused.
Professor Isiugo Abanihe urged Nigerians, particularly the youths and students to take advantage of the opportunity offered by NABTEB Certificates to facilitate their quest for educational advancement and career development in order to be more useful to themselves and the nation.
She noted that in addition to opening doors for admission to Universities, polytechnics and Colleges of Education and, facilitating gainful employment in the world of work, holders of the certificates can also enjoy the additional advantage of easy access to soft loans through the Bank of Industry, acquisition of license as professional artisans and becoming employers of labour.
